Happy Holidays to All

 

It's hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us.  It feels like each year they sneak up on us faster and faster.  This year, I have been particularly busy. 

 

At last count, I have made more than 500 Christmas cards this year.  That is crazy!  I could barely believe it myself.  Thanks to my great customers, they have kept me inspired.

 

 

Each time I sit down to make more cards, I feel like I am getting more creatively inspired.  The inspiration for many of my cards come from a variety of places.  I take comments and suggestions from customers, friends and family.  In my free time, I surf Pinterest (I LOVE PINTEREST!).  And, sometimes, I just see a design in my head and start putting it together.

Penny Black Snowman Cards

One of my newest finds, Penny Black stamps.
Even though this stamp and the Sweet Snowman set I showed you previously are from 2012, I have simply been behind the times.  I have found them now and are creating new designs with them daily.

Lodge Style Christmas Cards

This first card is a rather simple design.
I used an old stamp I have had for years by Stampendous to emboss the sentiment in gold.  The brown paper was dry embossed with my Cuttlebug and sanded for the effect.

 

 

This next card is another color combination that I decided to try using my Stampin' Up Lovely As a Tree set.  I am still practicing with it, as I only just recently acquired the set.  I am excited to see what else that I can create with it in the future.

Christmas Cards Galore!

As you can tell, I am a busy little beaver at this time of the year.  I have been making Christmas cards for months now.  Sadly, I still have not used all the Christmas stamps that I have....ssshh, don't tell my husband :).

 

 

 

So, today I am simply sharing a few more of my designs.  No time for chatting!  It's back to work for me.

Sweet Snowman Cards

 

Recently, I found this super fun stamp by Penny Black.  It is called Sweet Snowman.

 

While thumbing through pins on Pinterest, I found the cutest card I had ever seen.  I searched out the name and started searching the web.  I found the stamp, and many others, on Amazon.

 

I have had so much fun creating these cards.  They take a bit more time due to coloring.

Lovely as a Tree Cards

One of the most versatile stamp sets available today, in my opinion, is Stampin' Up's Lovely As A Tree.  This set can be used for Christmas, Birthdays, or Everyday cards.

 

If you are looking at a beginner set that is versatile and easy to use, this one is my suggestion.

 

 

If you would like to learn how to create this background and others that are similar, all you need to do is go to Pinterest.  There are many different tutorials.  Just find one that suits you and your skill level.

Remember, there is not wrong way to create.  If you are putting ink (or other medium) to paper, you are being creative.  I have found that art is relative.  I have created things that I didn't think looked good at all, but someone will come along and absolutely love it.
