Christmas in Blue and Teal

There is nothing more beautiful than when you mix different shades of blue with a pale teal color.  These cards now available on Ebay prove that.

There are few colors today that cannot be used when creating Christmas cards and crafts.  The traditional red and green are still beautiful, but there is nothing like receiving a card with colors like pink and teal.

Let The Snow Begin!

Just as August is coming to an end, our thoughts begin to shift from summer to fall.  However, I am already dreaming of snow.

I am a bit obsessed with snowflakes.  Each one is unique in its own way, just like us human beings.  They can be simple or complex.  Each flake is beautiful in its own way.  The cards I am sharing with you today are the same way...beautiful in their own way, but unique.

These designs combine sponging and glitter embossing.  No matter what colors you choose, they stand out with the embossed snowflakes and touch of shimmering glitter.  No matter whether you choose to sponge the background or not, these simple designs will dazzle your loved ones.

Make It a Very Merry Christmas

Although I like to use a variety of products to create my Christmas cards, the brand I use the most is Stampin' Up.  They make high-quality products in a variety of colors and styles.

These cards were made with Stampin' Up papers and die-cuts.  As you can see, they blend well together.

When are needing to make a cards quick, simply choose a simple layout, the coordinating papers and a few embellishments.  Card making does not have to be complicated.  I have been making cards for over 20 years, and I am still learning.

These new Christmas card designs for 2017 bring back the nostalgia of the holiday season.  Bright red and greens coupled with the message of Jesus' birth.  That is the reason for the season.

As with all the Christmas cards created here at Kimberz Kreations, the inside message is finished as well.  This way your holiday message is just as beautifully displayed as the outside of the card.

It's All in the Details

When designing and creating cards, I like to include little extras that really make them stand out in a crowd.  Each small detail can make the biggest difference between a blah card and a WOW card.

When shopping for embellishments, I always like to find something a bit different.  Sometimes, however, it pays to remain simple with ribbon.

Other ways I like to bring in details is with patterned paper, blending and coloring.

A small amount of detailed lace can sometimes be all the different you need to make.  It helps add dimension to you project, as well as breaking up void space or transitions.  Lace is a simple addition whenever you don't want to add bulk.

The following cards represent new designs that I have been working on.  Using the pine branch punch by Martha Stewart, I built a Christmas tree, window box and small floral details.  Although I feel like I have yet to master the technique, I believe with a bit of adjustment, this could be a great addition to card details.

Check Out What's On The Inside!

I wanted to share with you some examples of the inside of our cards.  Unlike most other cards that have simple fonts in black and white, our sentiments are stamped and embellished in full color to coordinate with the outside of the card.

Most of our Christmas cards measure 5" x 6.5" (12.7cm-16.5cm).  All cards are sold in sets of 10 unique cards with matching envelopes.

When you are in the papercrafting business, you can never bring yourself to throw out scraps.  Over time, your scrap pile builds up.  Why throw all those pieces away when they can be utilized into making your cards even more amazing?

How do you use your crafting scraps?  No matter what type of craft you do, do you find it difficult to throw anything out for fear that you could use it later?  If you are like me, you cannot bring yourself to throw out any scrap unless you are positive that you will no longer have a need for it.

Stampin' Up's Prancer Christmas Card Designs - New From Kimberz Kreations

One of most recent favorite stamps for Christmas is the retired Prancer stamp by Stampin' Up.  This stamp is so easy to use and create with it, even a beginner could have a ball with it!  There are no details to color or shade.  Simply pick the color of ink you want your image and stamp away.

I used the stamp with embossing inks.  Here I used silver and gold.  It's difficult to find a background pattern paper that does not go with this stamp.  

The card below used the Prancer stamp with white sparkle embossing ink.  It gives that added sparkle to the card, but keeps the card design simple.

Snow Joy Christmas Cards

Many images come to mind whenever you think of Christmas.  Snowflakes, snowmen, Christmas trees, gifts and so many more.  The cards that I am sharing with you today bring the snow images to life with bright colors of red and green.

This background paper by Co'ordinations goes well with many of the Stampin' Up inks and papers.  The extra touch of black and white makes each of the images come to life.

It is great to find a patterned paper that is so versatile.  This background allowed me to use different embellishments and layouts with ease.

Christmas in Plaid - Christmas Card Designs for Anyone

This "postcard" stamp is one that I have had around for years.  I had never used it.  It seemed intimidating.  At first it kind of was, but after a few practice stamps (colored), I think I reached some designs that I am happy with.  Then I went outside of my comfort zone by adding plaid backgrounds.  I can say that I have never (that I remember) used plaid paper.

These cards remind me of the old cabin style Christmas.  Possibly a sort of masculine card for those single guys out there.

The next card I made in two color combinations (red/green).  Each has an embossed background paper - deer design.  I coupled it with some more plaid and the burlap style ribbon.

I will happily continue to share my designs for Christmas 2017.  Do not panic if I don't update for a week or two in the next week or so.  The long awaited and dreaded hand surgery is happening at the end of the week.  I will not have any used of my hand for a while.  At least it is my left hand and I am right handed, which means when I am up to life, I can at least update my blog, Facebook and store.

Snowy the Snowman is BACK!

Snowy the Snowman is back for Christmas 2017!

I could not be happier to bring back this adorable snowman by Penny Black.  I am a huge fan of Snowy and his bigger counterpart.  It has to be the cutest snowman and one of the most versatile to use.

This year, I attempted to change Snowy's outfits to many different colors just to see if I would have any problems coordinating embellishments or other stamp products.  As you can see, that Snowy smile remains.

The background to these cards is made by using a sponging technique.  The trees are stamped from Lovely As a Tree by Stampin' Up.  Rather than stamp the trees in black or another color, I decided to use sparkling embossing powder to give the illusion of snow.

These cards are time consuming to prep, but the result is so rewarding.  You would be hard pressed to find someone who received this card and it did not bring a smile to their face.
