Valentine's Day is all about love and fun.  These handmade card do a little of both.
I really love the monkey Valentine paper.  I knew I had to have and I had to create a card with it.  What do you think?

Valentine's Day Cards - Pink & Black

Some of my favorite color combinations include those with some black and/or gray.  Pinks always pop a lot more when using a black to contrast.

These cards are rather simple cards that anyone can create with a few cards, a couple of sheets of printed paper, some ribbon or flower embellishment and some glue.  If you are trying to find cards that are quick and easy to put together, these will help build your skills.

For all the beginners out there, the best advice I have available to you is this:  Do not try to create the complicated and time consuming cards of your dreams.  You know the ones you see on Pinterest and are blown away by.  Those cards are mainly created by more advanced card makers.

This does not mean give and only make the easier cards.  This means, that gorgeous card is the goal you strive for in your creativity.  When I first started making cards, I almost gave up because I couldn't create a gorgeous card everytime.  None of my cards looked like the ones in the magazines (pre-Pinterest).  I got discouraged time and time again.  In fact, I actually quit creating cards and started making gift baskets instead.  I stayed in that funk for a few years.

When Pinterest came along a few years ago, my creativity was sparked again.  I wanted to learn and create the cards I so loved making in the first place.  I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of tutorials and tried, tried, tried.  Here I am.  I am finally doing this for a living.

What did I learn most from my experience?  I learned that not every card is meant to be complicated, and not every card should be perfect.  That is why they call them handmade or handcrafted.  We are human.  Humans are not perfect.  If you look closely enough at any handcrafted item, it is not perfect.  It was not meant to be.

Go out there and create!  You can do it!!

If you have any suggestions or comments for me, please do not hesitate.  I love to hear from my customers and followers.

Pretty in Pink - Valentine's Day is Coming

I'm back!

I survived the holidays!  I may feel like I have been through a small war of sorts, but, as you, I survived it.  Sad that some of us (ME!) cannot just make ourselves set back and enjoy the holidays rather than work through the holidays, trying to make everything perfect.  Each year perfect gets further and further away.  Guess I have always been an over-achiever.  I digress.  That is for therapy....LOL.

My second most favorite holiday is upon us.  Valentine's Day!  The day for lovers.

I am excited to bring you my first series of Valentines.  For some reason, I usually bypass making cards for Valentine's Day.  This year, I wanted to go all out.  I hope that you enjoy my kreations.

I decided that if I were going to make Valentines, I would definitely have to break out some of my stamp sets and embossing folders that rarely get used.  I think I have the hang of it.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

I hope you enjoy this series of cards as much as I have enjoyed creating them.  Keep checking back for more Valentine's Day cards to come.  I am also working on my newest series of birthday cards.

As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome.
